LitBuy shipping and customs
Facts checked · by the LitBuy Spreadsheet team
Shipping is usually the largest cost after the items. How LitBuy calculates it, how long parcels take, and what you can do to pay less.
Create your LitBuy accountHow long does LitBuy shipping take?
LitBuy’s own estimates, counted from the day the parcel leaves the warehouse. They are not guaranteed.
| Destination | Estimate |
|---|---|
| United States | 8–16 business days |
| European Union | 7–14 business days |
| United Kingdom | 7–12 business days |
Add the time before that: the seller ships to the warehouse (a few days, longer for made-to-order items), and you need a day or two to check QC photos and build the parcel.
How is LitBuy shipping priced?
Each shipping line charges by weight, and most also by volume. The volumetric weight is length × width × height of the packed box divided by a factor the line sets. You pay for whichever is higher. A box of shoe boxes is light but large, which is why it can cost more than its scale weight suggests.
For a first idea of the cost, use the Freight Estimator on litbuy.com: enter your country and an estimated weight and it lists the lines with their prices. You pay an estimate when you submit the parcel. After packing, LitBuy settles the difference against the real figures, which can mean a second, smaller bill. This is the most common complaint about LitBuy, and it is avoidable.
What is a LitBuy rehearsal parcel?
For ¥20, LitBuy packs your items, weighs and measures the box and quotes every line on real numbers before you choose. For anything bigger than a few tees it is the cheapest insurance against a surprise bill. A worked example with real box sizes is in the shipping cost calculator.
How much do typical LitBuy items weigh?
| Item | Weight (kg) |
|---|---|
| T-shirt or polo | 0.2–0.3 |
| Shorts | ≈ 0.3 |
| Pants or jeans | 0.5–0.9 |
| Hoodie or sweater | 0.6–1.0 |
| Puffer jacket | 1.0–1.6 |
| Small bag | ≈ 0.5 |
| Pair of shoes with box | 1.2–1.8 |
| Cap, belt, socks | < 0.2 |
How can I pay less for LitBuy shipping?
- Ship items together: one parcel is cheaper than several.
- Ask the warehouse to remove shoe boxes and branded packaging you do not need.
- Choose vacuum packing for hoodies, sweaters and puffers.
- Fill the weight band of a parcel with light items such as tees and caps.
- Use a shipping coupon, one per parcel. See the LitBuy coupon page.
LitBuy parcels and customs in 2026
Under LitBuy’s terms, customs risk lies with the buyer: duties, taxes, fines and refused parcels are your responsibility. Some lines include duties and VAT in the price, others leave them to be collected on delivery; the line description says which. The rules changed a lot in 2025 and 2026 (status of 24 September 2026, check the current state before you ship):
- European Union: VAT is due from the first euro. The duty exemption for parcels under €150 has ended; since 1 July 2026 a flat customs duty of €3 per item category applies to low-value parcels. An additional EU handling fee is planned from 1 November 2026; its amount was not final in September.
- United States: the duty-free de minimis allowance of $800 has been suspended since 29 August 2025, so parcels from China are dutiable regardless of value.
- Everywhere: couriers often add a handling fee for collecting import charges.
Declare the real value, keep a first order small and read the line description before you release the parcel. Items that infringe trademarks can be seized, and a seized parcel is not refunded.
How do LitBuy storage, insurance and tracking work?
- Storage: 90 days free, 120 days at most in the warehouse.
- Insurance: Loss or damage is compensated to your LitBuy balance on LitBuy’s own scale if you claim within 7 days of delivery or 45 days of shipment. Delays are not compensated.
- Tracking: the number appears in your account once the parcel has left; updates often come in bursts at departure, arrival and customs.
