LitBuy account locked: why it happens and what to do
By the LitBuy Spreadsheet team ·
A locked LitBuy account freezes everything inside it: orders in progress, items in the warehouse, parcels and your balance. The cause is usually one step you can avoid.
The main LitBuy lock trigger: a chargeback
A chargeback with your bank or PayPal locks the LitBuy account, including any orders, parcels and balance still in it. LitBuy’s help center describes this in its article on locked accounts. A chargeback means asking your bank, card issuer or PayPal to reverse a payment. For the agent it looks like a payment dispute, and the account is locked while it is open.
That is why a chargeback is the last resort, never the first. If you open one while items are still in the warehouse, you may lose access to those items as well as to the payment in dispute.
What to do when a LitBuy order goes wrong
- Open a ticket in your LitBuy account, one per problem, with the order or parcel number.
- Attach evidence: screenshots of the quote, the QC photos, tracking, chat replies.
- Mind the deadlines: returns within 5 days of arrival in the warehouse; loss or damage claims within 7 days of delivery or 45 days of shipment.
- Escalate politely: if the ticket stalls, LitBuy’s official Discord and its subreddit r/LitBuy_Community are channels where staff are present.
- Refund route: Refunds for cancelled or returned items go back to the original payment method.
If your LitBuy account is already locked
- Contact support and ask exactly why the account was locked and what is needed to unlock it.
- If a chargeback is the reason, ask support whether withdrawing the dispute would lift the lock, before you contact your bank or PayPal again.
- Keep a record of every message. Do not open a second account to get around the lock while the first one is in dispute.
When a LitBuy chargeback still makes sense
If an order was paid, support has stopped answering over a long period and you have nothing else in the account, your bank or PayPal protection is a legitimate last step. Just take it knowing that the account will not be usable afterwards.
